The Robinson House was established in 1970 by Thomas Wilfred Robinson Jr. It is a men's residential facility where individuals can accomplish the goals of becoming useful and productive members of society while living a full and rewarding life without alcohol or drugs. The Robinson House is not a boarding house or a treatment center, is not formally affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous, but is supported by many members and groups of the local AA community through financial and other contributions, resident sponsorship, and fellowship.

Many victims of the disease of alcoholism and addiction have gained a slender hold on sobriety through their introduction to the twelve step program's way of life while living briefly at a half-way house or other recovery facility. The Robinson House provides an alternative residence and supportive family environment for the newly recovering man.
